My Role: Product Designer

Content: The cleaning service company wants to migrate the information about their cleaning services online so prospective clients who want any of their services can easily contact them.

The Prompt: The CEO had complained about low patronage because there is no platform where he can showcase the amazing cleaning services offered by his company other than words of mouth. I was contracted with giving the company an online presence that could compete with top cleaning services in town.

 

Solution: I design a website with an active blog section. Set up social media accounts on all the major social networks. I also set up a Google My Business account and a YouTube Channel for the cleaning services company.

Competitors Research

I did research on the top cleaning services companies to gain insights on how they structure their website, the pieces of information they put on their web pages, and how the overall look of their website is. The key things I examine from the competitors include.

  • How they target customers

  • Online marketing strategies

  • How they charge

  • Strengths

  • Weakness

  • Competitive advantage

I went further to inspect their social media accounts (for those that have) in order to see the kinds of content they put out, how they post when they post, and how they engage.

Insights from Competitors Analysis

  • Most of the competitors' websites do not contain detailed information on the type of cleaning services they are offering.

  • Some do not have the option to request a cleaning quote.

  • Their online marketing strategy is limited to their website.

  • There is no linking of their cleaning service social media to their website.

  • No blog or an active blog.

Define

I gathered information about the company's cleaning services and reviewed competitors' analysis, I also ask some people (about ten) their experience with getting a cleaning service. I proposed the following to the CEO of the company.

  • Website built with WordPress

  • Running active social media accounts across all the major social networks

  • Registering the company on Google My Business

  • Banners for the posting on WhatsApp status

  • Posting before and after pictures and videos of the cleaning services.

  • Cleaning services top hashtags

  • Running an active blog

Implementation

  • I researched and make content for the website pages

  • I use cleaning services keywords as often as I can on the website

  • I save images and videos with cleaning services keywords

  • I research and use cleaning services slogans that relate to the company's vision

  • I set up social media accounts for the cleaning services company. They are a Facebook page, an Instagram business account.

  • I also provide content for posting on social media

  • I made a video promo for the business
